Something in your workplace is unpleasant in small ways and it's worst on quiet days. Four researchers followed 120 employees twice a day for 10 days. They found a bored day was followed by a worse behaved day and a worse behaved day by a more bored one. So whatever the cruelty buys is gone by the morning and what arrives is more of the thing that caused it.
